Back in the Saddle after a long fund drive – a few new tracks, but mostly a mish-mash of good stuff.
I’ll try and regularly post playlists here, and soon I’ll add a widget to make them searchable by Artist, Album or Date. And once that’s done, I’ll try and add in the last 20 years of assorted playlists from a whole bunch of past shows.

Just another January Night In. Glad to have you along.
The Great American Songbook show.
More faves from 2023 – and a few strays.
First show of 2024! And looking back to a lot of the fine music from 2023, plus some old friends.
A Very Betty Solstice. Celebrating the light, the sun, the moon, the glorious cycles of everything.
Not sure this playlist has any overarching mood or idea; just a lot of tunes that struck my fancy this week!
Let’s Get the Band Back Together
Still confused by the time change, but finding some compass with all these timeless tunes.
A bunch of new releases crept upon me and ambushed the playlist. Hope you like them!
It’s the season of the witch.
Crank It, We’re Doomed
Back in the saddle after a lot of fundraising and festival-making! A ton of new music from Allison Russell, Shakey Graves, Bahamas, Joni Mitchell, Mitski, Charley Crockett, Della Mae, and more!
Last Day of August – Super Blue Moon. It’s a Perfect Day to Kick Out the Lights.
Feels so good feelin’ good again.
A ton of new music from Joan Osborn, M Ward w/ First Aid Kit, Ray LaMontagne, Davy Knowles, Blind Boys of Alabama, Brandi and Catherine Carlile, and a couple tracks from a new Leon Russell tribute. A pretty good haul.
Just another hot august night.
A pensive but fun post-fund drive show, as we get our feet back to the ground after so much live radio kerfuffle. New tracks from Allison Russel, Lukas Nelson + POTR, Tommy Prine, and Tyler Childers. And a fond farewell to Sinéad.
Some fun new music from The Ruen Brothers (new faves!), Wood Brothers, Buddy and Julie, Stephen Marley, & Ryan Bingham. And older faves from Tyler, Haim, Yola, Lukas Cat, Aloe, Linda, etc.
New music from Jason Isbell & the 400 Unit, Rodney Crowell, Paul Ybarra, and Natalie Merchant. But mostly two hours of friends and favorites from the last few years. And a tad more Dylan than usual if you hang out till the end.
A recent live Joni Mitchell recording, some unexpected covers, new tracks from Jess Williamson and Jesse deNatale. The Js have it!
Another freewheeling’ Thursday night staying in with Betty. It could be from the Hills, from Ipanema, from Montgomery, from a Distance or from Me to You…
Not much new music happening this week; but plenty of great artistry, poignant character arcs, wistful break-ups, dues-paying, and of course, pie.
Back to our regularly scheduled music programming.
May the fourth be with you.
The 33 1/3 Show Every song tonight is exactly three minutes and thirty-three seconds. Go figure.
A little bit of smoke to start with, then a sneak peek at some of the participants in this year’s Berkeley Bluegrass Festival, then off into the Wild Blue Whatever…
Possibly inspired by all those floaters and flashers…it’s all in the eyes.
A few new things from Rissi Palmer, Sunny Sweeney, Robbie Fulks, Last Planet, Bettye LaVette, Madison McFerrin, and Susanna Hoffs. Some whiskey drinking’ and some champagne drinking’ and a couple not-so-cheerful Easter songs.
A little new music, a little old, a little blue. Books, reading, diaries and secrets.
Some fine new tracks from Joy Oladokun & Noah Kahan, Natalie McMaster & Rhiannon Giddens, and Elles Bailey. Also, a lot of running…
The first show in the Thursday night time spot! A whole lot of new music from Rickie Lee Jones, Iris DeMent, Tommy Emmanuel & Molly Tuttle, The War and Treaty, Eva Cassidy, Moby, Reyes Blood, Eric Bibb, Jane Bunnett & Maqueque
A show for International Women’s Day. A few songs about women musicians by women musicians. Then just a bunch of good tunes.
Here’s list of the playlists from the Wednesday Night Music Mix 2021-2023
June 22, 2006 – The Bonnie Simmons Show
An interview and live performance from the extraordinary songwriter and producer, T Bone Burnett, taped last week at the Great American Music Hall where T Bone was performing. Betty Beasley will be filling in for Bonnie this Thursday, but she’ll be playing the interview Bonnie did with T Bone Burnett shortly after 8:00PM.
